Winners – Australian Web Awards 2021
Founded by a group of dedicated web developers, The Australian Web Awards has been a National Event since 2009. Each year entries are judged by multiple industry leaders, and the cream of the crop are recognised and awarded at the annual AWA awards gala.
In 2021, Rock Agency submitted work to the Australian Web Awards for the first time. Awards hadn’t been something we’d gone after in the past – too consumed in doing the work to talk about the work. But, we also, perhaps, underestimated the effect the awards would have for us in confirming that the quality of our work was up there with the best the industry has to offer.
For the 2021 Awards there were ten categories that you could submit to, and we submitted work into five of them. It was an absolute honour to then be recognised as a finalist in four out of those five categories, with five finalists per category.
For us, the real achievement here is the recognition across the board – not only for a single category or ‘type’ of site – but for the range of custom built websites that we create. We’ve always loved that as an agency we haven’t been boxed into working for a specific industry or client-type (diversity keeps things interesting) so to know that our work is exemplary across industries and clients is a wonderful endorsement.
Finalists:
eCommerce Category – Vandenberg Wines
Education Category – RMIT Next
Shoestring Category – Do Not Open This Book
Small Business Category – Small Time Group
It was a huge honour to then be announced as the winner of two of those categories:
Winners:
eCommerce Category Winner – Vandenberg Wines
Education Category Winner – RMIT Next
Additionally, we also received the 2021 Discipline Award for Best Overall Content for our work on RMIT Next, which speaks to our passion for creating award winning websites that keep the user or audience in focus. Great content is the cornerstone for audience engagement, and iterates our commitment to creating sites that value substance as much as style.
