By creating a user-friendly, scalable, and beautifully-structured site in 2020, we’ve allowed RMIT to be able to continue to build on a strong foundation, rather than tear down and start again.

After delivering RMIT Next a multi-award winning website in 2020, they returned in 2022 to ‘re-skin’ the site – essentially updating the facade to reflect their new annual theme: Knowledge with Action. That meant implementing design updates like a new colour palette, complemented by hand-drawn lines, arrows, names, and connectors as graphic elements to emphasise a human, hand-made aesthetic. There were also a few functionality updates like a homepage reconfiguration and the creation of a new ‘Community Stories’ landing page – each orienting users towards the people-focused sections of the site. But, what’s truly special about this site is less conspicuous. RMIT Next speaks to why investing in great UX design at the outset saves time and money in the future – by creating a user-friendly, scalable, and beautifully-structured site back in 2020, we’ve allowed RMIT to be able to continue to build on a strong foundation, rather than tear down and start again.
